1. What for you is the best part about working in the concrete industry?

The people you work with and meet each day are down to earth, real, genuinely hard working and more often than not caring individuals. Most are equipped with a pretty good sense of humour as well

 

2. What’s the worst day you ever had working in the concrete industry?

Look I've probably got the trifecta of bad days. Where do you start? Rolling a Ford Louis with 6 metres on board, or batching 68 metres on the road and having the only inducted concrete pump on site  break down...or being an Operations Manager of the concrete plant and having a truck discharge concrete for three kilometres into the town you work in, only to be rung by the police, the Council and the local newspaper, all at the same time!

 

3. What’s the best decision you’ve made since commencing in the concrete industry?  

To stay working in the industry in late 2016...when I left my job as Operations Manager of a plant where there were hire trucks, concrete pumps, and large volume days, I was considering leaving the industry. But I'm glad now I stayed on, as you realise what a great place it is to work as the people you've met, the work colleagues you've been in the trenches with and the clients you've had, are friends for life

 

4. What makes your business unique and makes you stand out from the competition ? eg., personal service, good products, experience, size, professionalism, or market niche

I believe concrete broker is not just a resource for the public to buy concrete products and services, but a place where local concrete businesses can grow, increase their workflow and be seen in a positive light. 5. Why should the public and your business colleagues choose to work with your business?

At concrete broker you can have a website for a fraction of the cost of your own website with photo's, videos and business information. You can promote your business on our homepage, Facebook and  throughout the web, whilst listing all the products and services you provide, the locations you most want to work in, and the things that make you and your business special 

 

6. When not working in the concrete industry how do you spend your free time?

Look to be honest I haven't had much time out of it lately. Probably chasing cattle with my father, watching my own son play footie, or hanging around the house gardening and chatting with whichever child has decided to rock up home for the weekend

 

7. If you could pick one person, who do you most admire in life?

That's a pretty difficult question. I admire anyone who has cared given up their everyday working life to care for individuals with significant disabilities. But if I were to say one person, probably my wife. Shes a caring, giving Mum to five lovely kids, and that's not a bad effort

 

8. If you retired from the concrete industry tomorrow, what would you be doing?

I'd love to visit Sorrento, Capri and other destinations on the Amalfi Coast in Italy again.  I'd definitely like to keep in touch with everyone you don't have time to catch up with when your'e working
