How to lay a concrete slab

Follow Cement Australia's comprehensive step by step guide to laying your own slab.

Thanks to the range of renovating and gardening shows gracing our screens, do it yourself (DIY) home projects are more popular now than ever. And while it is best to leave certain jobs up to the experts, there are some jobs that you can tackle at ease at home with a little bit of research, preparation and hard work.

Cement Australia have produced a comprehensive step by step guide to laying a concrete slab. Their guide lists the tools and materials you will need for your job. They'll take you through everything from your personal protective equipment (PPE), to dial before you dig, formwork, preparing the area for the slab, reinforcing mesh, mixing and pouring the concrete, through to finishing the slab and curing the slab.

With guidance like this, it's hard to go wrong.
